Compression stockings are a medical device intended for the prevention and treatment of the circulatory system, so it is essential to choose the correct size of this medical aid.

When determining the size of compression stockings or arm sleeves, it is very important to pay attention to correct measurement. The proper function of the stocking or arm sleeve depends on the correct size.

Measure preferably in the morning; during the day the limbs swell and the measured values would therefore not be correct. Measure all the points required by the size chart of the given product. When choosing the size, the most important values are at points b (circumference above the ankle), d (circumference below the knee) and g (thigh circumference 5 cm below the groin). The length measurement between points A – G (for thigh-high stockings or tights) or A – D (for knee-high stockings) is also important.

 

Avicenum PHLEBO 70 sizes

Knee-high sizes are chosen according to foot size: 36–38 (23–25), 39–41 (25–27), 42–44 (27–29), 45–47 (29–31).

Thigh-high sizes:
M, L (thigh circumference 50–60 cm)
XL (thigh circumference over 60 cm)

Tights sizes are chosen according to height / hip circumference.

Avicenum PHLEBO 140 sizes

To correctly determine the size of knee-high and thigh-high stockings and tights, it is necessary to measure both the leg circumference at several measuring points and the length of the limb.

Avicenum PHLEBO 310 sizes

Knee-high sizes are determined by ready-made sizing for foot size 36–38, 39–41, 42–44, 45–47.

 

Avicenum PHLEBO 250, 360 and 520 sizes

In addition to standard sizes, special sizes are also available: minus (for patients with slim thighs), plus (for patients with larger thighs), ultra-short (for patients of shorter stature).

For patients with non-standard or asymmetric (left vs. right limb) measurements, we offer the possibility of custom production of a compression product.

 

Avicenum LYMPHO 360 sizes

For the correct choice of arm-sleeve size, the most important is to correctly measure the wrist circumference (point c) and the arm circumference (point g). Points a (palm circumference) and d (forearm circumference) are supplementary measurements, e.g. when buying an arm sleeve with a glove. The length measurement of the upper limb, taken from point C to point G, is also important.
